A new mixed-use 24-hour neighborhood will rise on the West Side of Manhattan. As envisioned, development on the Eastern Rail Yards is principally commercial, while development on the Western Rail Yards is almost entirely a mix of rental and condominium residential buildings.

Nearly 5.4 million square feet of state-of-the-art sustainable Class-A office space will span four buildings anchored by the new World Headquarters of The Condé Nast Publications. A multi-story glass enclosed Galleria at the base of two of these buildings on the Eastern Rail Yards serves as an organizing system for retail space, an indoor refuge for the open space and provides a critical linkage through the site to a dramatic 10th Avenue plaza.

In total, 6.4 million square feet of housing, approximately 7,000 units, will be developed in buildings designed with great variations in height and positioning to maximize light, air and views. All residential rental buildings will be developed through the 80/20 affordable housing program.
